75 Hard - week 2 recap and learnings

First of all, I can’t believe it’s been two full weeks of this wild challenge. Time is actually moving at lightspeed which is funny because you’d think the opposite when you have all of these daily to-do’s lingering in your mind constantly.

This week was a bit harder. I think it’s partially because the excitement has worn off and reality has set in. I’m finding that water is still not as difficult as I had predicted it to be. I’m enjoying the extra hydration and I know this is going to continue well after the 75 days are up.

My workouts shifted a lot this week to one full body strength paired with stretching, yoga or walking. I did go for a run on Sunday which was actually so much fun. I made up this little running workout that went like this:

  • Run for 6 minutes

  • Do 10 pushups

  • Recover for 30 seconds to 1:00 minute

  • Repeat

I found having this little challenge in between and a recovery built in made running more manageable to me (as someone who isn’t consistently running but wants to get back into it). I ended up running just shy of 3.5 miles so nothing spectacular and the pace was not even really a running pace but I enjoyed it and that is what is important. I plan to do this a few times this upcoming week!

I’m enjoying reading and I’m getting a lot out of it. In some ways, I think more than listening to audiobooks or podcasts so I could see this sticking around after the 75 days as well.

For week three, I am reminding myself why I’ve decided to challenge myself to do the 75 days - I want to make changes to help myself get back to a place of feeling healthy and not using being tired as an excuse to get out of everything and learning a few new things along the journey.

I’m going to continue the full body strength workouts but I don’t want to half-ass them this week (as I feel I did a bit too much in week two). Additionally, I want to incorporate my running workouts at least three times over this week.

Week three is all about hustle and fun - let’s do it!
